David E. Sacks, AIA
Founding Principal

David is committed to the success of Architectural Consulting & Forensics and the partnerships with its clients. He understands that the foundation of all successful projects combines technical accuracy with timely and efficient communication.
David is a licensed architect with an M.Arch and MSCE from the University of Michigan. He is experienced in the evaluation of building enclosures for both new and existing buildings, with a wide array of building enclosure material expertise ranging from architectural terra cotta, stone, and brick, to modern MCM and curtain wall systems.
David supports the hands-on approach to learning and believes in the importance of getting your hands (and boots, jeans, etc.) dirty. He is an active member of ASTM D-08 Committee on Roofing and Waterproofing and a former APT Western Great Lakes Board Member. His work has been published in technical journals and he has spoken at both local and national events.desacks@consultingforensics.com
Anthony Skokal, Assoc. AIA

Anthony joined ACF at the start of the 2024 summer. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His focus is on designing efficient building enclosure systems, with a dedication to contributing to a more sustainable future.
Prior to joining ACF, Anthony worked as an architectural intern at a local Chicago firm where he assisted with design and permitting for new construction single family residences. He also serves on the AIA Illinois Emerging Professionals Committee.
Outside of work, he enjoys exploring the city, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

Rachelle joined ACF as a Building Enclosure Consultant intern in 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Minnesota, where she spent a semester abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark. Rachelle earned a Master of Architecture from UIC where she also worked as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate architecture classes.
Prior to joining ACF, Rachelle worked as an architectural designer at firms in Minnesota and Wisconsin where she assisted with the design of multifamily, historic, commercial, and hospitality projects. She also spent a year with a nonprofit in Pittsburgh restoring blighted urban streams in Western Pennsylvania. These professional experiences, paired with a curiosity for all things architecture and a commitment to learning, have allowed her to support ACF with field reports, site visits, technical writing, and document review. Rachelle is particularly interested in blending technical expertise with intentional design to create equally beautiful and functional architecture.
Outside of work, Rachelle enjoys sketching, water coloring, and dining her way around Chicago.

Grace joined ACF in 2026 as a Building Enclosure Consultant after earning a Master of Architecture, a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies, and a Graduate Certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Kansas. Her academic and professional interests center on the intersection of historic preservation, building science, and sustainable design, with a focus on ensuring buildings serve their people for generations.
Prior to joining ACF, Grace studied masonry restoration in Italy, worked in anastylosis efforts at the ancient city of Aphrodisias in Türkiye, spent a year designing and building a home for the non-profit Tenants to Homeowners, and gained experience in construction technology and project management. These experiences deepened her appreciation for historic construction techniques, material performance, and how buildings should endure and evolve over time.
Grace is actively involved in the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) and is a strong advocate for integrated project delivery. She is particularly interested in how early collaboration can position building enclosure consulting as a proactive tool that informs decisions, reduces risk, and improves long-term building performance.
Outside of work, Grace enjoys spending time with friends, learning new things, and looking at old buildings.
